Dura-FilmŪ Thermax Plus is manufactured
from high clarity 12% vinyl acetate resins. This 8-mil IR film offers exceptional
toughness, excellent light transmission with built-in anti-condensate and bee
compatibility.
Dura-Film® Thermax Plus' advanced
formulation provides energy absorption in the 7,000 nm to 14,000 nm range. This
provides for excellent infrared retention while maintaining high light transmission in the
visible and PAR energy ranges. In heated greenhouses, heating costs are
reduced. In unheated cold frames, higher overnight temperatures are maintained when
compared to non-IR films.
Condensation droplets have been shown to reduce light transmission by as
much as 50%. Dura-Film® Thermax Plus contains
surface tension modifiers to prevent the formation of condensation droplets.
Dura-Film® Thermax Plus not only maintains
its high light transmission during periods of high condensation, it also reduces or
eliminates the random raining of droplets. Dura-FilmŪ
Thermax Plus is also a bee compatible film.
Dura-Film® Thermax Plus provides greater
physical strength and resists ice damage better than traditional 6-mil films. When
used on inflated double poly structures, Dura-Film® Thermax Plus offers longer life and greater security than 2 layers of 6-mil film. This
special 8-mil formulation is also preferred for applications using a single layer of film
and a convection tube bumper.
The high PAR light transmission of Dura-FilmŪ
Thermax Plus provides an environment allowing the plants to take maximum advantage of
available solar energy. Many growers in northern latitudes will welcome the
increased light intensity. Growers in areas of high light should watch for signs of
burning or stress on sensitive crops.
