OCCUPATIONAL
HEALTH NURSE
Reporting to the Environmental Health and Safety
Manager this Edmonton
based position provides assessment, care planning, and treatment for acute
illness and injuries. The OHN works closely with managers and employees to
conduct fitness for work assessments and provide disability and duty to
accommodate case management for short and long term and return to work programs
in support of the Company’s attendance management program. The position is also responsible for the development
and interpretation of information statistics, policies, procedures, standards
and practices to meet the objectives of the Company and regulatory
compliance. Consistent with Company
policy and mandatory regulations, the position develops, delivers and
coordinates OH and wellness education and training programs for employees. The position has the flexibility to be
permanent part time or full time, depending on the requirements of the
successful candidate.
Education/Experience: A
current AARN registration, Occupational Health Nurse
Certificate, current CPR and BTLS or equivalent as
required by Alberta First Aid Regulations are
essential. 3-5 years experience working as an OHN
would be an asset, preferably in an industrial
setting.
Also required would be a working knowledge and
understanding of hazards and compliance issues
associated with applicable laws, regulations, codes and
guidelines and a working knowledge of third party claims
management and WCB process experience.
Qualifications: Demonstrated
OH skills, along with organizational, communication,
interpersonal, analytical, computer, internet and
presentation skills are required.
